First School is certified under Arkansas Better Beginnings with a 3 star rating offering a faith-based, nurturing Parent’s Day Out, Preschool and Kindergarten. It is an outreach of the First United Presbyterian Church to our community.
Our Parents Day Out program is for children under two years old. The program provides primary caregivers a respite while their children are cared for in a creative, nurturing and safe environment.
Preschool children participate in a balance of social, physical, cognitive, artistic and spiritual activities, both structured and unstructured. First School has the lowest child to teacher ratios in the area.
Kindergarten is a five-day program designed for children 5 years of age that would benefit from another year in a lower child-to-teacher ratio setting before attending public school.
Preschool and Parents Day Out classes on Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday during the school year, offer a half day of instruction time from 8:00 a.m. – noon, or the option of an extended day lasting until 2:30 p.m.
The five-day Kindergarten program also has the option of instruction from 8 a.m. – 12 noon, or the extended day until 2:30 p.m.
During the summer, classes are offered for infants through elementary ages, either Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday.
