First United Presbyterian Church Fayetteville has a tradition of small groups as well as the meetings of the whole congregation. One of these groups is Poetic Conversations. This is a monthly meeting to share poetry through the spoken word.

“I experience these as refreshing,” says Pastor Jan Butin. “We meet monthly on Zoom on the second Thursday from 7-8 pm.  A couple of people who attend are published poets and others of us write for fun or have favorite poems/poets.  For Poetic Conversations, you can bring one or two poems on any topic you choose.  (Or you can just listen as others read.)  Some poems we read are spiritual; some are humorous; some are traditional favorites; some are original writing.  They can be anything at all. We wanted to make sure everyone knows that this group exists.  Come and enjoy!”
