Thoughtful Christians, one of the adult Sunday School groups at FUPC, will read and discuss The Shaping of Things to Come: Innovation and Mission for the 21st-Century Church, by Michael Frost and Alan Hirsch. The book is available on Amazon in paper and for Kindle. The discussion will take place on Zoom and in the Library at 10:00 on Sunday mornings.
The Shaping of Things to Come looks at church history and at current culture change, It is not an academic work, but thoroughly supports its claims. Readers will find many challenging ideas and we look forward to thought-provoking discussions on the concepts brought up in the book. While we plan o base conversations on one chapter each week, we expect that people who have not read the chapter will still be able to make valuable contributions — many of the points in the book are ideas that our congregation has been grappling with.
