One of the great traditions at First United Presbyterian Church is that all members and friends, regardless of age, are encouraged to participate in leading worship. We believe that its important to provide opportunities for children and teenagers to not just participate fully in worship, but to stand in front of their FUPC family and lead worship.
While we continually affirm that commitment in nearly every worship service at FUPC by asking young people to lead elements of worship, we also affirm that commitment through our annual “Youth Sunday” worship service. On Youth Sunday, middle and high school students plan and lead the entire worship service, including all elements of liturgy and the sermon!
This year, FUPC members, friends, and visitors are invited to attend Youth Sunday on April 25! FUPC students will be leading both in the outdoors service at 8:30 a.m. and the livestream service at 11 a.m.
Youth Sunday will also be Confirmation Sunday this year. Our confirmation students have been on a long journey, and are ready to publicly proclaim their faith and membership in our church body. Students will be confirmed at the early service, and a short video will be played of the confirmation celebration at the livestream service.
If you have any questions about Youth Sunday or the confirmation ceremony, please reach out to Brianne or Jacob Christiansen.
