We warmly extend God’s own welcome to people of all ethnicities, nationalities, cultures, backgrounds, abilities, economic situations, ages, genders, marital conditions, sexual orientations, and political and theological viewpoints.
As a Presbyterian church, we value unity in diversity. Here is what the Book of Order has to say on this subject:
Unity in Diversity
The unity of believers in Christ is reflected in the rich diversity of the Church’s membership. In Christ, by the power of the Spirit, God unites persons through baptism regardless of race, ethnicity, age, sex, disability, geography, or theological conviction. There is therefore no place in the life of the Church for discrimination against any person.
Welcome and Openness
The Gospel leads members to extend the fellowship of Christ to all persons. Failure to do so constitutes a rejection of Christ himself.
We treasure the uniqueness of each individual as well as the richness of our community. You can be assured of a warm welcome at FUPC, no matter where you come from or where you are on your spiritual path. We praise God for the diversity of creation, including the human beings made in God’s image. That includes all people.
“I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” Revelation 7:9
